I paint mainly on raw birch panels and cut out shapes of birch plywood. The texture and the grain of the wood that shows through the transparent layers of paint, makes it’s own statement as the fingerprint of it’s natural origins that persist beyond the transformation from tree to painted surface.

Nature, history and observation meets curiosity, nostalgia and imagination.

It’s a wink at nature, a nod to the past and inspiration in the present.
